Maroon paper wrappers, illustrated with title, portrait of Greely. 11 black and white illustrated plates. Wear at edges and some loss. Comments: This pamphlet was meant to be read as a newspaper, then discarded. It recounts the story of Adolphus Greely on the Lady Franklin Bay Expedition. After supply trips failed to reach the expedition, the crew was forced to retreat south with inadequate supplies. 19 of the 25 man crew perished. Captain Winfield Scott Schley was able to rescue the remaining crew in 1884.
