Signed on the half-title by the author: “Wallis, Duchess of Windsor.”
Wallis Simpson, Duchess of Windsor (1896-1986), was the wife of King Edward VIII. Their decision to marry lead to the abdication crisis of 1936, resulting in Edward VIII abdicating the throne of Great Britain.
