Four plays from the Second Folio of William Shakespeare, including: The Life of King Henry the Fift, [bound with] King Henry the Sixt, the First, Second and Third Parts, published by Thomas Cotes in 1632.
Folio, 69-95pp; 96-119pp; 120-146pp; 147-172pp. Bound in quarter calf, marbled boards, four titles on the spine in gilt, raised bands. Printed in double column, with woodcut head piece and tailpieces. A few points of ink marginalia, [94-95] misnumbered as 49 and 59, corrected in ink. The second folio of William Shakespeare’s plays was published in 1632 and contained 36 plays in total. It followed the first folio, which was published in 1623. It is estimated that approximately 1000 copies of the second folio were produced, with only a handful of complete examples still in existence today.
