Solid text block, appears almost unread. In publisher’s first state dust jacket, $15.95 on the front flap, ISBN 0-15-144647-4 on the rear panel, touch of wear at head of the spine, a superb example.
The Name of the Rose was first published in Italian as Il nome della rosa by Bompiani in 1980. It was Eco’s debut novel after an established career as a scholar of semiotics and medieval culture. Jean-Jacques Annaud’s film adaptation, starring Sean Connery, followed in 1986.
