Octavo, xxxviii, 824pp. Blue cloth, title in gilt on spine and front cover. Stated “first printing” on copyright page. Lightly read copy, clean text throughout. In publisher’s dust jacket, $10.00 retail price on front flap, some wear at edges of spine, closed tear at top edge, bright illustrations and vibrant colors. Inscribed by the translator of this book to Judge Robert S. Marx in Greek and translated as follows: “For Judge Robert S. Marx, Hooray! Remove the poor bitter thoughts from your mind, listen as I will tell you the triumphs and tortures of the famous Odysseus! Prologue 72-73. Kimon Friar. N.Y. City Dec. 23, 1958.”

The recipient of this book, Judge Robert S. Marx, was a Superior Court Judge in Cincinnati and the first commander of the Disabled American Veterans organization. A member of the 357th Infantry Regiment in World War I, he was severely wounded and was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross by President Woodrow Wilson. After his death in 1960, the University of Cincinnati named the Robert S. Marx Law Library in his honor.
