Octavo, xiv, [2], 609pp. Full navy blue morocco, title in gilt on red morocco label affixed to spine. Five gilt-embellished raised bands, thin border stamped in blind to covers. Marbled endpapers. Properly labeled title pages indicate first edition. Lacking some first issue points. The third issue, with signature “E” present on pages 25 and 27, and pagination present for page 26. Solid text block, light wear to edges of some leaves, faint foxing. Previous ownership bookplate of Herman Simon affixed to front endpaper.
