Bookplate removed from front pastedown, faint foxing to endpapers. Solid text block, free of any marks or notations. First edition with the Franklin Press imprint on copyright page. Binding State A, in the publisher’s green cloth, rosette on spine 1/8″ below fillet. (BAL 3402) (McBride, 70) Second state with “estate” corrected to “state” on page 124, “do not” corrected to “do” on Page 362. An attractive example, with bright gilt embellishments.
