Octavo, [six volumes]. Full blue morocco, title in gilt on spine, raised bands with six decorative gilt compartments. Stated “First Published” on copyright page of each volume. Modern endpapers, all edges gilt. Gilt-stamped lion emblems on each spine. Faint foxing to preliminary leaves of Volume I, others fine. A few light blemishes to gilt, all volumes appearing unread. Volume I includes the “Author’s Note” bound-in at p. viii and errata slip at p. 610. Complete with fold-out maps and full-page illustrations.
