From the personal library of President George H.W. Bush in Kennebunkport, Maine. Octavo, 374pp. Blue cloth, red cloth spine, fading to cloth on the spine. Stated “first edition” on copyright page with full number line. In publishers dust jacket, retail price on front flap, some shelf wear, closed tear at bottom edge of spine. Inscribed by the author on the half title: “For George Bush, With admiration for his courage and gratitude for his friendship. Arnaud de Borchgrave. 3/23/80.” Provenance: from the Kennebunkport Public Library in 2019, who acquired numerous books from the Kennebunkport Estate of former President George H.W. Bush.

Comments: The author of this book, Arnaud de Borchgrave, was the editor-in-chief of The Washington Times and a lifelong foreign correspondent. He was a conservative journalist, with close ties to CIA in the 1970’s and then the Reagan administration in the 1980’s.
