Ray H. Jenkins (1897- 1980) was a Tennessee lawyer and former prosecutor nicknamed the “Terror of Tellico Plains” for his early-career courtroom ferocity. Jenkins later gained national attention as special counsel during the 1954 Army-McCarthy hearings. His methodical questioning style during the televised McCarthy proceedings contrasted with the era’s political theatrics.
