Illustrated by Peter Scott, complete with 66 color plates, 10 black-and-white plates, 108 maps, and 37 text figures. Stated “fifth impression 1973” on copyright page. Each volume with the publisher’s glassine dust jacket, all nearly fine, with a small split along the spine hinge of Volume I. Includes the publisher’s illustrated slipcase, fine condition.
Each volume is signed by the author on the half-title.
Originally published by Country Life of London in separate volumes between 1954 and 1964, this collected edition of “Waterfowl of the World” is the fifth impression of the work. “Waterfowl” is a survey of the Anatidae family, including geese, swans, shelducks, dabbling ducks, pochards, eiders, and mergansers.
