Signed first edition of The Wave of the Future by Anne Morrow Lindbergh. Twelvemo, 41pp. Dark blue cloth, title in gilt on spine and front panel. Soiling to bottom edge of cloth, not affecting text or dust jacket. Stated “first edition” on copyright page. In publishers dust jacket, $1.00 on front flap, stain from cloth on back panel of jacket but not transferring through, an exceptional dust jacket. Housed in custom blue clamshell chemise. Inscribed on the half title to Anson Conger Goodyear, a prominent member of the Goodyear family and the first president of the Museum of Modern Art in New York. Inscription reads: “For Conger Goodyear, Anne Morrow Lindbergh. July 5th, 1941.”

Comments: Anne Morrow Lindbergh was an award winning author and pioneering aviator. She was the wife of Charles Lindbergh until his death in 1974. Her work, Gifts from the Sea (1955) was a national best seller. Her first work, North to the Orient recounted her early adventures with Charles Lindbergh. She was a ghost writer on Lindbergh’s Pulitzer prize winning autobiography, The Spirit of St. Louis, published in 1953.
