The Works of Theodore Roosevelt, the National Edition, in dust jackets and crate.

Octavo, [20 Volumes]. Black leatherette, embossed decorative illustrations, portrait of Roosevelt in gilt on cover, title in gilt on spine. Top edge dyed brown. In the publisher’s original cream paper dust jackets, title printed in black on spine, all in very good condition, some loss to Volume I, toning to spines, varying levels of wear to the jackets. Books are housed in the original wood shipping crate from 1927, with “Roosevelt – National Edition – Scribner’s New York” printed on the side panel. Crate was shipped to an individual in Chicago. Many volumes have never been read, some unopened leaves. Books retain original printers ink smell. A unique example of this historical set.

Theodore Roosevelt served as the 26th President of the United States. He was a prolific author, writing more than 18 books during his lifetime, beginning with The Naval War of 1812 in 1882. His other notable works include The Winning of the West, African Game Trails, and The Rough Riders.
