Eugene O’Neill was an American playwright and Nobel laureate in literature. He is best remembered for his play “Long Day’s Journey into Night.” His early work, Beyond the Horizon, won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama. His other works include The Emperor Jones, Anna Christie, Desire Under the Elms, Strange Interlude and Ah, Wilderness. Later in his career he began to suffer Parkinsons like symptoms, hence the shaky signature in this book. One of his best works, The Iceman Cometh, was produced in 1946. O’Neill died in 1953.
