Octavo, xii, [2], 133pp. Blue cloth, title in gilt on spine over red ink label. First printing, with no additional printings noted. Internally clean, solid text block. Light rubbing along top quarter of blue cloth, offsetting to endpapers from dust jacket. Touch of foxing to half title. In publisher’s dust jacket, $3.00 retail price on front flap, light wear along margins, a bright, near fine example.
Signed by President Harry S. Truman on the half-title.

Richard Silverman was the photographer of Harry S. Truman’s 1959 Radner Lectures at Columbia University. His work is credited; four of his photographs appear in the book. Truman Speaks is a collection of speeches given by former President Harry S. Truman at Columbia University in 1959. Topics included the presidency, the Constitution, and the “menace of demagoguery to democracy.”
