First edition, early issue of Uncle Tom’s Cabin by Harriet Beecher Stowe, with “Ninety-Fifth Thousand” on the title page of both volumes.

Twelvemo, [two volumes], x, [13]-312pp; iv, [5]-322pp, [12pp ads]. Publisher’s brown cloth, title stamped in gilt on the spine, illustration in gilt on front panel. Stated “Ninety-Fifth Thousand” on the title page of both volumes. Rubbing to corners, wear to head and heel of both spines. Both with scattered foxing throughout. All signatures are solid. Stereotype imprint from Hobart & Robbins on copyright pages, with “New England Type and Stereotype Foundery, Boston. Printed by Geo. C. Rand, Cornhill.” Complete with six full-page plates, three in each volume.

Uncle Tom’s Cabin was first published in serial form in the National Era newspaper from June 5, 1851 to April 1, 1852. This first issue in book form was published March 20, 1852.
