The first printing, with the Library of Congress number 63-21253 on the title page. Pictorial endpapers, bright boards and clean illustrated text. In the publisher’s second state dust jacket, $3.50 retail price on front flap, code “40-80 / 1163” on bottom of front flap, Caldecott Award medal on front cover and the “Winner of the 1964 Caldecott Award” on the rear flap.
