Description
The President William H. Taft mechanical campaign watch fob and key from the 1912 presidential election.
Brass lock measures 1.75″ x 1.25″. Padlock is stamped “LOCK TO / WHITE HOUSE / TAFT / 1912.” With a swiveling circular disk at the center revealing Taft’s name as the election winner. Similar “Lock to White House” fobs were produced for the Wilson and Roosevelt campaigns.
A scarce piece of campaign ephemera.
