Holtz recounts his life and coaching career, including his early years in Ohio, assistant coaching positions, the New York Jets, and head coaching tenures at William & Mary, North Carolina State, Arkansas, Minnesota, Notre Dame, and South Carolina. Holtz led Notre Dame to the 1988 national championship and was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame.
