Octavo, [6], 249pp, [3]. Full red pictorial cloth, decorated with illustrations of animals in black and white. Title in white on front cover and spine. This is the second issue binding with improved white coloring on covers. The initial coloring flaked easily and was quickly changed by the publishers. Printer’s mark on Page 251 (unnumbered) indicates the first impression. Solid text block, rubbing to corners, heavy toning to endpapers, otherwise bright. Complete with 22 plates and numerous text illustrations by Kipling.
