Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury was first published in 1953 by Ballantine Books. The novel originated from Bradbury’s shorter work, “The Fireman,” published in Galaxy Science Fiction in 1951. It won the American Academy of Arts and Letters Award in Literature in 1954 and a Retro Hugo Award in 2004.
