This book recounts Amelia Earhart’s flight aboard the Friendship as a passenger in 1928, when she became the first woman to cross the Atlantic Ocean by air. A few years later, in 1932, Ms. Earhart would become the first woman to make a solo flight across the Atlantic. In 1937, in an attempt fly around the world, Earhart’s plane disappeared and was never recovered.
