Bookplate removed from front free endpaper. In the publisher’s dust jacket, $2.50 retail price, soiled with a dampstain to rear panel. A few short closed tears, jacket held intact by tape repairs to verso.
Inscribed by the author on the half-title: “For — with the good wishes of Louis Bromfield.”
A Good Woman was Bromfield’s first publication following his Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, Early Autumn (1926). Despite his successful literary career, Bromfield spent the majority of his life as an early champion of sustainable farming and organic agriculture.
