Henry Penruddocke Wyndham (1736?1819) was an English antiquarian and travel writer known for his detailed accounts of the English countryside. He authored several works, including “The Diary of the Late George Bubb Dodington, Baron of Melcombe Regis” and “A Gentleman’s Tour Through Monmouthshire and Wales.” Wyndham’s writings often focused on the historical and architectural significance of various locales, contributing to the period’s interest in travel literature. He was also a Member of Parliament, representing Salisbury from 1768 to 1780, and later Wiltshire from 1784 to 1812.
