Publishers first edition dust jacket, near fine, price clipped, with “0679” at bottom of front flap. Book is double inscribed by President Ford, with signature on leaf before title page and inscription on half title: “To my very good friend, John Ware, in appreciation of your many kindnesses and loyal support during my Presidency. Warmest best wishes, Gerald R. Ford. 12/18/79.”
Comments: John H. Ware III was a republican member of the House of Representatives from Pennsylvania, serving alongside Gerald Ford before he was nominated to be Vice President. Gerald R. Ford served as Vice President following the resignation of Spiro Agnew in 1973. In the wake of the Watergate Scandal and the resignation of President Richard Nixon, Gerald R. Ford assumed the Presidency in 1974. He served from 1974-1977, before being defeated by Jimmy Carter during the 1976 presidential election.
