Description
First edition, first printing of Alcoholics Anonymous by Bill Wilson, a fine example.
Octavo, viii, [2], 400pp, [6]. Publisher’s red cloth, title in gilt on spine and front cover. No additional printings mentioned on copyright page. Faint exposure to spine, almost imperceptible. Previous ownership notation on front free endpaper, free of any additional marks or notations. Solid text block, with little evidence this book was ever referenced. Bumped lower right corner, no impact to text block. Lacking the scarce dust jacket, as usual. Housed in a custom red leather clamshell, tan linen lining, title in gilt on spine. An exceptional copy, with bright gilding.
The original text by Bill Wilson reporting on treatment successes and from which the now famous AA organization got its name.
