Octavo, [4], 497pp, [3]. Three-quarter morocco, title stamped in gilt on the spine, decorative raised bands. Top edge gilt, marbled endpapers. Light rubbing tips of the spine, sunning to the spine. Notable wear to lower left corner of the spine. Binding by the noted English bookbinder, Katharine Adams, with stamp on the second free endpaper. This volume has a faint tobacco smell to the text block. This work is complete, with a tissue covered frontispiece portrait and 45 illustrated plates. Includes the armorial bookplate of Ferdinand Grant Loeb (1865-1913) on the front pastedown. (Biscotti, XX)
