Gift inscription on front free endpaper, dated 1913. Small bookseller’s label on rear pastedown. Complete with 100 full-page illustrations, including cartoons, photographs, and drawings. Fold-out table detailing casualties of the 5th Corps in Santiago.
Includes the publisher’s exceptionally rare dust jacket, $2.50 net retail price on the spine, label removed from front cover, chips along spine, a few closed tears. Lacking the slipcase, as issued.

An Autobiography by Theodore Roosevelt was first issued as a serial publication in The Outlook, titled Chapters of a Possible Autobiography. The first edition was published in November of 1913, with a planned paper dust jacket and a slipcase. According to auction records, only one other copy with the dust jacket and slipcase has appeared at auction. (Swann, Lot 337, 2013)
