Epaphras Hoyt (1765–1850) was an American historian, military officer, and public official from Massachusetts. He authored Antiquarian Researches and A Treatise on the Military Art, contributing to early American military science. Hoyt served as a militia officer, rising to the rank of major general, and held various local government positions, including judge and legislator. His works on military tactics and history were influential in shaping 19th-century American military thought.
