Quarto, [two volumes], xii, 632pp; xvi, 632pp. Three-quarter brown morocco, brown pebbled cloth boards. Five raised bands, title in gilt on each spine. Faded marbled edges. Solid text blocks, light wear to corners and edges, some foxing to endpapers and edges of plates. Previous ownership bookplate affixed to front endpaper of Volume II. Complete with forty-two full-page plates, all with tissue covers; twenty-one in Volume I, and twenty-one in Volume II. An attractive example.
