Comments: Betty Ford served as First Lady during the administration of her husband, Gerald R. Ford. She became known for her advocacy for treatment of alcoholism and substance abuse, through her institute named The Betty Ford Clinic. She passed away in 2011 and is buried next to her husband in Grand Rapids.
