Description

Signed first edition of Black on Black: Baby Sister and Selected writings by Chester B. Himes.

Octavo, 287pp. Green cloth covered boards, title in gilt on black cloth spine. Lacking a first edition statement on copyright page, indicating later printing. Solid text block, faint dust remnants to top edge, a near fine example. In the publisher’s dust jacket, $6.95 retail price on front flap, faint rubbing along bottom edge, otherwise fine.

Signed on the front free endpaper: “for Mary / Chester Himes.” A nice copy, rarely seen with a signature.
