Octavo, 181pp. Red cloth, title in gilt on spine. Top edge stained dark blue. No additional printings indicated on copyright page. Light toning to endpapers, all corners and lower spine bumped. Clean text with no marks or notations. In publisher’s original dust jacket, retail price of $2.50 on front flap, light chipping to corners and spine ends, archival repairs to closed tears along top edge, two small dampstains along top edge at spine and flap fold of back panel, soiling to covers. A nice example of the author’s first book.
Dreadful Summit was the basis for the 1951 film noir The Big Night, directed by Joseph Losey and starring John Drew Barrymore, Preston Foster and Joan Lorring.
