Frontispiece portrait of Edison in both volumes with tissue cover. Multiple black and white photographic inserts. Lacking the scarce dust jackets and publishers slipcase. Bookplate in volume II, previous ownership signature in volume I. Inscribed by Thomas Edison on the front free end paper of Volume II to “Hutch.” Miller Reece Hutchison, Ph.D., was the inventor of the electric hearing aid and the Klaxon Horn. His contributions to science and technology would affect peoples live for generations to come.
Comments: Thomas Edison is quoted as saying that Dr. Hutchison invented the Klaxon Horn to create more customers for his hearing aids. This quote has also been attributed to Mark Twain.
