Octavo, [five volumes]. Three-quarter brown morocco with tan cloth boards, double gilt-ruled trim on covers. Title in gilt on spines, five raised bands with gilt embellishments. Top edge gilt, uncut fore edge, some pages unopened. Marbled endpapers. Gift inscription on front pastedown endpaper of Volume I. All five volumes with solid text blocks. Front joints of Volumes I, III and IV starting, but still stable. All volumes with frontispiece portraits and tissue guards. Fold-out facsimile letter in Volume I. An attractive example.
