Copyright note at rear of each volume states: “Jeffrey Archer 1984. Published and distributed by Associated Newspapers Group… First Among Equals is a section of YOU Magazine and must not be sold separately from The Mail on Sunday. The hardback edition will be published by Hodder & Stoughton on July 2nd, 1984 at £8.95.” The later two issues in this series feature an advertisement for the hardcover release.
