The first impression of this work includes a retail price of “Two shilling and six pence net” on cover, which this proof copy lacks. (Gallup A73a) This work was part of the Bibliographical Series of Supplements to “British Book News” on Writers and Their Work, number 152. The General Editor was Bonamy Dobree.

Signed on the half title by T.S. Eliot, with his characteristic signature.

The first impression of George Herbert was published November 26, 1962, printed by F. Mildner & Sons of London. Only 8000 copies were printed in the original print run. It was followed in 1964 by an American edition from The University of Nebraska Press in Lincoln, with a smaller print run of 5000 copies.
