    Large octavo, ix, 198pp. Library binding, with brown cloth and title in gilt on red label affixed to spine. Solid text block, light soiling to covers, rubbing to label on spine. From the University of Cincinnati Robert S. Marx Law Library, with label to covers and spine, and stamps to endpapers and title page.

    The editor, Dr. Albert Bushnell Hart (1854-1943), was a Harvard University historian nicknamed “The Grand Old Man” by fellow historian Samuel Eliot Morison. While in school, Hart was in Phi Beta Kappa alongside Theodore Roosevelt, graduating in 1880. The Bicentennial Pamphlets include information of all elements of George Washington’s life, such as “Washington the Farmer,” “Washington as a Religious Man,” and “Washington Proprietor of Mount Vernon.”
