Octavo, [4], 447pp. Three-quarter morocco, title stamped in gilt on the spine, decorative raised bands. Top edge gilt, marbled endpapers. Light rubbing tips of the spine, sunning to the spine. Binding by the noted English bookbinder, Katharine Adams. This volume has a faint tobacco smell to the text block. This work is complete, with a tissue-covered frontispiece portrait and 15 illustrated plates. Includes the armorial bookplate of Ferdinand Grant Loeb (1865-1913) on the front pastedown.
