Octavo, viii, 311pp, [1pp ad]. Three-quarter green morocco, marbled paper boards. Five raised bands, title in gilt on spine. Marbled edges, matching marbled endpapers.
Includes the following first issue points: “business” line 11, page 40; “nine o’clock” line one, page 64; “Long Islands” lines 9-10, page 101. Solid text block, foxing to flyleaves, sunning to spine, light rubbing to edges of covers. Previous ownership inscription to front flyleaf and half-title. Fold-out map frontispiece, lightly foxed. Bound with first page of rear advertisements, but lacking the following 15, which would feature the date code 5G.4.86 and 5B.4.86. This work was originally bound in full cloth.
