The first edition of Salvador Dali’s cookbook, Les Dîners de Gala, in honor of his wife, Gala, published in 1973.
Quarto, 8-320pp, [4]. Publisher’s illustrated cloth, title in black on both covers. Faint dust remnant along top edge of text block, internally clean. Illustrated with hundreds of color works by Dali. Solid text block. In the publisher’s first issue cardstock dust jacket, metallic print, heavily illustrated, a touch of shelf wear to boards. A bright, near fine example.
This work was produced under the direction of Rene Toutain, Draeger Maitre Imprimeur, with layout and printing by Max Gerard. It was preceded in 1971 by a portfolio of 12 illustrated lithographs, under the same title, all of which were incorporated into this edition. It was followed in 1977 by Les Vins de Gala.
