Octavo, 202pp, [8pp Ads]. Green cloth, gilt title on spine, gilt bust of Butler on cover, black decorative inlay. Brown endpapers, with previous owners inscription on front endpaper. Clean pages. Light wear to top of spine from handling, but otherwise near fine.
Comments: Major General Benjamin Butler was a member of the Union Army. He was best remembered for this role in the Impeachment of President Andrew Johnson, where he led the effort to remove the unpopular President. He would later serve as Governor of Massachusetts.
