Paul Simon (1928-2003) was an Illinois Democrat who served in the House of Representatives from 1975 to 1985 and in the Senate from 1985 to 1997. Simon wrote twenty-two books throughout his career, and was known for his traditional horn-rimmed glasses and bow tie. In a tribute to Simon, former President Bill Clinton said he was “beyond question, one of the most remarkable public servants I ever knew.”
