The Little White Bird is recognized as the initial introduction of the story of Peter Pan. It was Barrie’s first adult novel, containing darker themes than his previous writing, but Pan’s appearance added a softer tone to balance the work. In 1906, the chapters featuring Peter Pan were published separately as a children’s book titled Peter Pan in Kensington Gardens.
