Mickey Mantle (1931-1995) spent his full MLB career with the New York Yankees from 1951 to 1968. Mantle was known as an impressive switch hitter, along with being a sixteen-time All-Star, a three-time American League MVP, and a Gold Glove Winner. My Favorite Summer 1956 describes Mantle’s experience winning the Triple Crown (leading statistics in batting average, home runs, and runs batted in), as well as helping pitcher Don Larsen maintain his perfect game, and winning one of his seven career World Series championships.
