Wear to front hinge after limitation page, solid text block. Housed in publisher’s slipcase, gilt title on spine, fine. This edition is the William J. Clinton Foundation Limited Edition, consisting of 450 numbered copies, all individually signed by President Bill Clinton. This copy is number 409 of 450. It is inscribed on the limitation page: “To David Alsobrook, With thanks for making the library a living thing – Bill Clinton. December 2004.” An excellent association copy.
David E. Alsobrook (1946-2021) was the founding director of the George H.W. Bush Presidential Library and the William J. Clinton Presidential Library. Prior to his position at the Bush Library, he served as supervisory archivist at the Jimmy Carter Presidential Library. Alsobrook was responsible for the transfer of presidential materials from the White House to presidential libraries for Presidents Carter, George H.W. Bush and Clinton. Alsobrook reflected on his long career in a memoir titled Presidential Archivist: A Memoir, published in 2020.
