Octavo, ix, 251pp, [4 index]. Publishers original illustrated boards with title and chapter descriptions, rebacked spine. Uncut, clean leafs. Light foxing on rear end paper. Two foldout maps of Cincinnati and the Miami Country, both fine. (Sabin, 20822)
Comments: An interesting first edition piece, which details the history of the Cincinnati area. It is the first study of the geology of the western Ohio Valley, with special attention given to “elephant fossils” at Big Bone Lick (later discovered to Mammoths). It also details Indian mounds within Cincinnati proper. An excellent piece of Ohio History.
