On My Own, by former first lady Eleanor Roosevelt, follows her life after the death of her husband, President Franklin D. Roosevelt, in 1945. It details her time as a delegate to the United Nations, chairperson of the United Nations Commission on Human Rights and a political activist for Democratic causes throughout the United States. It was one of the last publications of Mrs. Roosevelt, before her death in 1962.
