Octavo, xii, 241pp. Blue cloth, title in gilt over blue ink on spine, black signature on front panel. Housed in acetate dust jacket. From a limited edition advance presentation set, signed by former first lady Eleanor Roosevelt. Limitation reads: “This copy of On My Own is one of those signed by Mrs. Roosevelt for advance presentation to friends of the author and the publisher. Eleanor Roosevelt.” A fine example of this limited edition copy.
Comments: On My Own by former first lady Eleanor Roosevelt follows her life after the death of her husband, President Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1945. It details her time as a delegate to the United Nations, chairperson of the United Nations Commission on Human Rights and a political activist for democratic causes throughout the United States. It was one of the last publications of Mrs. Roosevelt, before her death in 1962.
