Published shortly after his death, the Personal Memoirs of President Grant are held in high regard by historians and general readers alike. Grant was initially opposed to writing his memoirs, but wished to leave his family financially stable after his death. The books were sold in multiple formats ranging in price from $3.50 to $12.00 in 1885.
Gluckman was the author of numerous books on American firearms, including: “United States Martial Pistols and Revolvers” – A comprehensive guide to U.S. martial handguns, providing detailed descriptions, historical contexts, and technical specifications. “American Gun Makers” (with L.D. Satterlee) – This book offers insights into the history and development of gun making in the United States, including biographical details of significant gun makers. “Catalogue of the Collection of United States Service Arms in the Museum of Springfield Armory” – As suggested by the title, this work catalogs the collection of service arms at the Springfield Armory Museum, detailing various pieces significant to American military history.
